Is this a photograph of a child, or of childhood?

That question came up during a workshop with Craig Semetko. It stuck.

I’ve been thinking less about subjects, more about states. Less about identity, more about transition. Not who someone is—but where they are.

Sometimes it’s unfinished. Sometimes unclear. I try not to fill in the gaps.

It’s the incompleteness I frame.
